Based on the composition of local economies and sectors where refugees are working, focus on a specific sector or subsector.
While the focus is often on agricultural sectors, bear in mind that value chains can sometimes be found in urban areas, which offer a relatively more developed and diverse market environment and a wider range of high-potential value chains to choose from.
When selecting sectors, involve national counterparts, including business associations and chambers of industry or commerce, to promote ownership.
Triangulate the assessment conclusions through consultation with national or local stakeholders.
